After its successful debut in 1905, the Tourist Trophy would become established as the longest surviving of all the great motor races. A Rolls Royce finished second in 1905.

The Hon. C.S. Rolls won the event in 1906 driving his own Light Twenty familiarly known as the Tourist Trophy Rolls Royce at an average speed of 38.3 mph.
